Following on from a creative story telling group time the children explored making salt dough. One child commented as they mixed the ingredients, ‘I can feel the salt, it’s getting sticky, it’s like making cakes.’ Another child commented, ‘It jumps out, it’s melting to mix.’They used it to make a variety of different things. For example, some children made representations of yummy cakes, others made characters from the story they had made up. One child commented ‘I’ve made the princess.’ Another child commented, ‘ A snake, a squiggly snake.’ We will offer the children chance to add to their creations, such as painting them or adding glitter so watch out for more creations to follow!
