Garretts Green Nursery School invites applications for children whose third birthday falls before the end of August for entry in September. We are happy to take names on a waiting list from the child's second birthday.
Places are offered in the Spring prior to entry. On acceptance of a place parents are asked to indicate a preference for a morning or afternoon place but the school cannot guarantee that preferences will be met. Our Vice Chair of Governors supports the Head Teacher in making judgements about the allocation of morning or afternoon places based on parental preference and application form.
When a family meets the criteria and is therefore eligible for a full time place, this may be offered if there are vacancies. Please contact the school for further details.
Your child is eligible for 15 hours free childcare at our Nursery School at the age of 3-4 years.
If you require a place for 15 hours free education at Garretts Green Nursery School you may apply (by downloading an application form or by visiting the Nursery to collect and complete an application form) when you child has his or her second birthday. Details will be retained until places are offered usually in September following the child’s third birthday.
Please bring along proof of your address and your child’s birth certificate when you apply.
Thank you. If places are available, children are offered a place in the term after their third birthday.
30 hours free childcare
The new Government scheme to offer 30 hours free childcare to working parents is in place from September 2017.
Parents must meet the criteria determined by the Government to be eligible for a 30 hour place for their child.
Our Resource Base admissions are subject to liaison between Birmingham Special Educational Needs Assessment and Review Service (SENAR) and the school. Children are generally required to have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health and Care Plan.
The majority of our children have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition or complex additional learning needs and may be of Nursery or Reception Class age (3-5years)
