This week in Forest School we have used a tool! The children listened to the adults as they talked about the hammer, showing them the different parts, how to use it safely and what we were using it for. The children picked a leaf from the forest floor and then carefully hit the leaf onto calico to create a leaf print. The children wowed the adults by trying very hard to remember the different parts of the hammer. One child said ‘It’s cheek and a face.’

The children were amazed at their leaf print one child commenting ‘The blood has come out of the leaf.’ Another saying ‘It looks like a tree, it’s my leaf print.’ We can’t wait to use more tools in Forest School well done everyone.
