This week we explored making different shades of green. The children were encouraged to discuss what they thought was in the tray. One child said ‘It looks like sand.’ Another child said ‘It looks like flour.’ We talked about it being powder paint and then the children added some to their section of the builders tray. They experimented what happened when they added water and more green and white powder paint. We had some lovely shades of green. One child commented ‘It doesn’t look like paint it needs to look more gloopy.’ When asked how he could make it look more gloopy he replied ‘Add water’. Some children then painted with their green paint, there was salt to add to their painting if they wished. One child commented ‘ It’s making it griterly’ Another child commented ‘ It looks like glitter so I added it on to the swirls.’ It was messy but certainly fun!
